What is coronoid process of ulna?

The coronoid process of the ulna is a bony projection located on the anterior surface of the ulna bone in the forearm. It is involved in forming the hinge joint of the elbow with the humerus.

The coronoid process is triangular in shape and extends upwards from the ulnar shaft. It serves as an attachment point for ligaments and muscles that help stabilize the elbow joint and control its movement.

Injury to the coronoid process can occur as a result of elbow dislocation or fractures, which can lead to pain, instability, and limited range of motion in the elbow joint. Treatment for coronoid process fractures may range from conservative measures such as immobilization and physical therapy to surgical intervention to repair the fracture.
